Cover Artwork

My adaptable and multidisciplinary design approach has enabled me to create very diverse pieces within the music industry during my freelance career. I've honed in on my ability to create visuals with music to guide my creative direction. My animations gained some popularity in this space over the year, allowing me to create cover artwork and matching visualizers for various clients to enhance the audiovisual experiences of those listening to music on youtube- or for use as a visual aid when promoting their music on social media. The following are some of my favourite artwork/animation duo projects:

Billi Akh- Bhalwaan and SB (Full Animation Link)

For Bill Akh, I took inspiration from the 80s retro-futurism era to complement the song created by my clients. Wanting a striking visual, I placed a glowing woman at the centre to compliment the lyrics and added an element of emotion through the subtle hints of movement in her body language and facial features. The artist names are written in my handwriting to give the robotic nature of the artwork a little bit of organic contrast.

No Drama- Akmusic and Luvvksg (Song Link)

For this project, I took a surrealist approach by accentuating the concept of Drama as an activity facilitated by the devil. I illustrated the devil as a traditionally composed marionette stage to play on this concept- placing eyes in the sky to represent an audience watching the events unfold.

Note To Self - Sunny Malton (Full Animation Link)

As this artist was making a comeback to the music industry, I wanted to give him meaningful imagery to complement the depth of his lyrics and experiences. As Sunny raps about his trials and tribulations, I composed a skull surrounded by flowers to represent beauty and growth after endings. The snake embodies the concept of betrayal that the rapper discusses in his lyrics. I wrote out his verses on lined paper and used it as a texture for the imagery to bring in the concept of a note- giving the visual an origami/paper art effect.

Love Dont Cost A Thing - Amari (Full Animation Link)

This project allowed me to experiment with my animation style. The artist wanted imagery with fire, and I played with the concept of burnt money to represent the song content. I also chose to create an anime-style animation to make the visuals more dynamic and engaging.
